Natural-language tools can now generate simple apps, but the algorithms, mathematical models, and data behind any meaningful program still demand a real understanding of code. This new course gives middle-school students a genuine foundation in Python β€” and puts it to work in mathematical modeling and data analysis.

Students build genuine fluency in Python β€” from first principles to writing real programs. Designed for both newcomers and students who already have some experience.

Students learn to explore data, draw sound conclusions, and present them with clear visualizations β€” an essential skill for research and team projects.

With the rise of AI, it's tempting to think students no longer need to code. In reality, coding remains essential across nearly every field. Natural-language tools can produce simple apps, but the core algorithms, mathematical modeling, and data modeling behind meaningful programs still require a solid understanding of code. In research opportunities and team-based projects especially, students need genuine coding ability to take on meaningful roles and produce real results. This course goes well beyond syntax: students strengthen their problem-solving, learn modern, AI-assisted programming methods, and build the foundation that program development, research participation, and data analysis all depend on.
